FLSA Status : Exempt
Summary : The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the productive and efficient performance of the Plant's maintenance department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Establish and maintain departmental budget within established guidelines
- Evaluate and prepare expense authorizations for projects and present to Plant Manager for submittal.
- Work with upper management on capital projects
- Responsible for environmental reporting such as Tier II and TRI
- Responsible for overseeing the Plant's boiler and ammonia system
- Work with department supervisors running E-Maint. work order program
- Develop plans to improve plant performance with the cooperation of the plant management team.
- Ensure sanitation, safety, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality policies and procedures are followed at all times
- Counsel and discipline employees as appropriate.
- Manage required training programs for maintenance personnel
- Participate as a member of the plant safety committee.
- Oversee and manage the Plant's preventative maintenance program
- Identify appropriate vendor networks.
- Communicate and respond to any product quality concerns
- Coordinate equipment availability, downtime projects, and new installations with the Plant Manager
- Communicate with plant management staff on daily operational issues.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis. The employee must be able to push, pull, and move up to 100 pounds. The employee must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds. All jobs require visual acuity to review written documentations; ability to hear and understand speech. At times there can be loud noise which may cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to heat / cold temperature
