SUMMARY
The Slot Manager is responsible for overall Slot and Electronic Gaming Operations. In addition, the Slot Manager will assist in overall daily operations of the casino by being a central point of contact to funnel information and resolve issues under the guidance of the Director of Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops Slot processes and procedures which improve guest service and revenue while meeting compliance regulations.
- Develops strategies to create a high-quality guest service experience, expand guest visits, and increase slot profitability.
- Develops, implements, and monitors the Slot Department’s budget. Understands and documents monthly P&L while addressing variances.
- Provides oversight of slot and electronic gaming. Manages projects related to operational goals, profit objectives, and market performance by using data from PAR sheets, slot files, CMS, and other systems.
- Maintains records related to slot product, determines the best slot mix, pay out percentage, and locations to maximum effectiveness. Works with vendors and others to ensure effective slot moves, installations, and removals.
- Establishes and maintains professional and effective relationships with slot vendors.
- Responsible for accurate documentation for Ponca Gaming Commission and internal records.
- Coaches and guides department Leadership and Team Members to meet department goals and maintains a high level of guest service and internal service standards. Motivates Team Members for continuous improvement.
- Effectively schedules to meet business demands and manage labor costs. Approves weekly time and attendance.
- Interviews, selects, and trains new Slot Operations Team Members.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Responds to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Resolves Guest complaints in a timely and positive manner.
- Ensures all Team Members are trained in on-the-job expectations and performance standards.
- Maintains accurate and timely performance management documentation including both corrective and positive feedback for all members within Slot Operations.
- Ensures department Supervisors are trained, coached and accountable for providing timely written and verbal feedback to team. Ensures timely administration of Team Member evaluations.
- Works with HR to develop and build bench strength within the team. Fosters growth opportunity and identifies challenges with talent. Assists in succession planning for future company growth.
- Responsible for ensuring all department procedures are met during daily operations.
- Reviews and approves appropriate documentation and paperwork for transactions according to regulations.
- Ensures daily Manager On Duty Report is completed and distributed as appropriate.
- Ensures slot participation fees, par variance reports, slot bank reviews, and machine performance reports are researched, verified and addressed as necessary. Responsible for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
- Steps in as a working Manager whenever staffing levels or business demands require.
- Must be able to work the required work schedule and flexible to change shifts as needed. This may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Works physically onsite to manage business and interact personally with Team Members, vendors and guests.
- Ensures all safety standards are met and possible safety hazards are quickly resolved.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Minimum of 15 years of related slot operations leadership experience required. 20 years of experience highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality or other related field preferred.
- Excellent Guest Service and interpersonal skills required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Ability to interact and communicate in both group and individual settings. Must be able to collaborate with all levels of the organization on projects and daily needs.
- Strong organization and analytical skills required.
- Must be fully competent in the use of a computer including Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with industry related software.
- Ability to read, analyze, and act upon complex documents and reports necessary.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram.
- Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Frequently required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to lift or move up to 75 pounds. May occasionally be required to push or pull up to350 pounds.
- This casino has an enclosed gaming area where smoking is allowed. Team members may be exposed to a smoking environment in or around this designated smoking area.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. Using hands grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, bend, kneel, and crouch.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, increasing to loud when on the casino floor.
