Job Description
The Agro-Innovation, and Technology, Center(AITC) in the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (CAFNR), is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Support Staff member. This position is responsible for providing Level 1 technical support, administrative assistance, and operational support for departmental functions such as requisitions and travel requests.
This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.
This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Answer service calls for department staff, faculty, and students and forward requests to IT technicians.
- Manage inventory data, attend meeting, take minutes and communicate with various departments in the College.
- Assist with preparing and processing requisitions for equipment, supplies, and services.
- Handle travel requests and reimbursements, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Manage departmental calendars and schedules, coordinating meetings and events as needed.
- Organize and maintain files and records, both digital and physical.
- Act as the first point of contact for general inquiries to the AITC.
- Provide logistical support for department events and activities.
- Support department staff and faculty with clerical and operational tasks.
- Manage student worker task and time sheets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Planning and organization skills.
- Familiarity with software licensing and hardware procurement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic knowledge of Copilot, Teams, Planner, and related tools.
- Basic knowledge of IT troubleshooting (hardware, software, and network).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem solving and critical thinking.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Customer service orientation.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn.
- Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of six years of experience.
