We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical construction principles and project management methodologies. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain relationships between the company and the builder assigned, maintain morale and relationships with crews assigned, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
Reporting to the general manager, the project manager will oversee all projects, manage field employee manpower scheduling, order all job material and confirm job is at or, under the estimated cost to perform work. Additionally, the project manager will oversee a cohesive team of cross-trained employees, able to apply their skills to the necessary workload and properly address the needs of all customers.
Journeyman Electrical License required.
Master Electrical License preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage teams of foreman and determine the best staffing mix of labor for each job.
Confirm all projects are performed to meet the job goal while being on or below budget.
Visit job sites frequently to access, monitor and assist as necessary.
Communicate with the Estimator how the job was bid and associated details.
Plan with Sales the schedule of work for current and upcoming weeks.
Create and maintain two week forecast/tentative schedule of work to be performed and distribute to all foreman. And General Manager.
Maintain flexibility to switch gears and reassign electricians as situations dictate.
Address field employee questions by asking them to answer/verify they are clear on all
items to be done at the job and when each step must be completed.
Train foreman on best procedures and how to manage electricians.
Hold electricians accountable to complete the job properly and on time.
Prepare schedule of values and review contracts for new projects.
Maintain good working relationship with G.C. project managers – resolve all issues. In maintaining the relationship, it is expected that the project manager will comprehend the forthcoming workload of the assigned general contractor and advocate for our services in future projects. This involves securing additional work by ensuring more bidding opportunities are directed to our estimation department
Manage original submittals, submittal packages per specs., P.O.s, and Change Orders.
Confirm breakdowns for large change orders when different from original.
Confirm proper pricing for all Change Orders and have approved by G.C.
Create, manage, and address pricing changes for RFIs and ASIs.
Source, order, and schedule all rental equipment., in-stock, and specialty items for jobs.
Review all vendor job invoices for accuracy and pricing.
Assist Estimation and COO with inventory and materials knowledge to receive parts and lighting packages.
Communicate with Estimation and COO regarding Estimated Shipping Dates (ESDs).
Monitor tracking sheets for material and lighting packages.
Communicate in regards to draw requests, verify invoices from bills on project percent complete.
Contact inspector to schedule inspections.
Manage warranty items and track warranty dates.
Provide excel procurement logs for General Contractors as required.
Review and verify weekly company employee timesheets for accuracy.
Maintain good working relationship with all company functional leaders and has working knowledge of both Finance and Sales.
Manage all disputes between employees and/or contractors up to the level of COO.
Create a culture of trust, transparency, and continuous improvement by building effective communication channels with electricians and general contractors alike.
Ask electricians to give their input and help develop processes of common sense.
Job Qualifications, physical Requirements and Character Traits:
Minimum of 8 years of related Electrical Contractor Industry experience.
Basic understanding of Project Plans and programs used by General Contractors.
Procore, Field wire, CIMC, Bluebeam, Jobtread, etc.
Team leader who works well with others, able to coach and delegate direction.
Can Do Attitude: Positive, Helpful and Energetic.
Strong Character with Enthusiasm and a Sense of Urgency.
Always Punctual, Ambitious, and most importantly Likeable.
Solid work history showing progressive reliability and conscientiousness.
Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
Dexterity of hands to perform the tasks required of the position.
Sight in order to be aware of hazards and dangers found in the nature of the work.
Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
Lift moderate to heavy objects up to 100 lbs.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, Google, and basic computer knowledge to communicate effectively with team and customers.
