Job Overview :

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting the financial health of the company. This position will report directly to the CEO at our main office in Aliso Viejo.

Key Responsibilities :

• Maintain the company's financial records, including day-to-day bookkeeping, managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Work with the payroll administrator to book payroll appropriately.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports for management.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Work with external auditors and tax professionals to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial projections.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in the accounting department.
• Meet with Department leaders to conduct monthly trainings and education on budgets and future decision making as it relates to finance management.
• Identify overspend opportunities and address with Department leaders accordingly.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Deep understanding and comfort level with Quickbooks Online.

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with ERP systems or advanced accounting software.
• Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or other relevant certifications.
