About Us:
Premier Boating Centers, LP is the parent company for a multi-state, 11-location chain of marine dealerships offering top-tier watercraft, as well as parts and service. With a reputation for excellence in customer service and operations, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to join our team and lead our accounting department.
Position Summary:
As the Controller, you will oversee all financial operations of the dealership, including cash flow management, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making through accurate and timely financial information. This is a leadership position that requires hands-on accounting skills. Experience in the Auto, RV, Powersports or Marine industries are not required but would be a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger, inventory, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Coordinate with external auditors when needed, and manage internal year-end audit processes
- Maintain accurate inventory and costing of boats, trailers, and parts
- Monitor floorplan financing and ensure timely funding/payoffs
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements
- Supervise and support accounting staff
- Assist with dealership-wide reporting and management initiatives
- Utilize Lightspeed EVO dealership management software as well as Quickbooks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accountant.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS) and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero, as well as advanced Excel, Power BI and other analytical tools.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Effective communication skills for presenting financial information to stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
