About the Role :
The firm is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to build and lead its in-house finance function. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the financial operations and shape the firm’s financial strategy. Reporting to the COO, the CFO will be responsible for financial reporting, investment operations, tax planning, and treasury management, as well as overseeing the transition from outsourced financial services to an in-house team.
This full-time, on-site position is based in Century City, CA.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the family office's day-to-day financial operations, including treasury, financial reporting, general accounting, tax planning, internal controls, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
- Develop and implement the long-term financial vision for the family office, aligning operations with growth objectives.
- Partner with the COO and investment leadership to drive investment reporting, monitoring, and cash flow management.
- Manage the firm’s carry and co-investment program as part of the employee compensation strategy.
- Oversee the transition of financial operations from outsourced providers to an in-house model, managing a 12–24 month phased process.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the COO, family members, and leadership, providing insights to guide key decisions.
- Analyze financial issues impacting the various entities and provide oversight and recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements for the family office and investment vehicles.
- Implement robust reporting frameworks and dashboards to monitor investment performance, liquidity, and cash flows.
- Develop financial models to provide scenario analysis and actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Lead the implementation of back-office operations that meet the needs of the business and the family, ensuring scalability and operational excellence.
- Provide oversight of tax strategy and compliance, identifying opportunities to optimize investment, partnership, and trust structures.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and liaise between outside advisers and the family office.
- Hire, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team, ensuring the proper structure and resources are in place to support growth.
- Foster a collaborative and flexible culture, balancing rigor with adaptability to meet the entrepreneurial mindset of the family office.
- Act as a mentor and resource to next-generation family members, providing education on financial operations.
- Assess and implement modern financial systems and tools to enhance reporting, analysis, and forecasting capabilities.
- Streamline workflows, processes, and internal controls to achieve operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Evaluate outsourced services on an ongoing basis, determining optimal areas to bring in-house.
Qualifications :
Salary : Base salary of $350,000-400,000, performance-based bonuses, and future participation in the firm’s carry and co-investment program.
