As a Business Systems Analyst, you will work collaboratively with fellow Business Systems Analysts to deliver high-quality service to library staff and patrons.
The ideal candidate brings experience and knowledge in managing technology, which includes implementing, deploying and troubleshooting applications and hardware, creative thinking, purposeful passion and consistent customer-centered focus.
About This Role:
Technology Support:
- Implement, deploy, and troubleshoot software and hardware used by library staff, including desktops, laptops, printers, copiers, mobile devices (iPads), the Integrated Library System (ILS), and Digital Library resources.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for public-facing technologies at assigned sites.
- Participate in training and foster professional development.
Advanced (Tier 3) Support:
- Serve as the system administrator for key applications, including the library mobile app, room reservation software, and program registration tools
- Manage configurations, lead version upgrades, test new functionalities, and document bug fixes
- Maintain SIP2 or similar connections between third-party systems and the ILS
System Analysis and New Technologies:
- Analyze business processes and recommend technology solutions to improve workflows
- Review technology purchase requests and evaluate whitelist/exemption requests for the staff network
- Prepare user documentation and deliver end-user training.
Technology Refresh and Inventory Management:
- Oversee library IT assets, ensuring proper inventory control for both hardware and software
- Track assets according to Technology Services Division (TSD) and Department of Information Technology (DoIT) guidelines
- Coordinate with DoIT for equipment refreshes and software updates.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and four (4) years of IT experience such as technical support and help desk or system administration.
Preferences:
- Experience supporting technologies in a public library or utilized by the public
- Experience managing library specific technologies such as an integrated Library System (ILS) plus authentication and maintenance of 3rd party systems connected to the ILS
- Experience creating technical documentation such as standard operating procedures or instructional documentation
- Experience utilizing a help desk ticketing system to track support requests
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining equipment such as computers, laptops, printers, and scanners
- Experience conducting and developing training materials for specific technology training
- Experience serving as a project lead or project manager for technology initiatives
- Experience with configuration, maintenance, and Tier 3 COTS applications support
- Experience working in a Microsoft Windows environment
Special Requirements:
The position requires travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week exempt position located at the Administrative Support Center. Office hours are usually between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. However, this position will typically be “on-call” after normal office hours, including the weekend, once every four (4) weeks and available while library branches are open in case of emergency situations. There may be some remote work based on operational demands.
Starting Salary Range: $65,910.00 – 79,408.88
