Salary: $163,686 - $185,854

DESCRIPTION: This position provides leadership within a comprehensive 4A high school serving 1900 students in grades 9 through 12. Provide the necessary leadership to create and maintain conditions for a high level of instructional efficiency, equity and a student-centered culture. Work within the policies of the district and the guidelines of the Superintendent to continue to create a warm, safe and nurturing environment for the students of the WSD. The principal is the administrator and supervisor of the school and has full responsibility and authority for the control and management of the school in all its operations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a valid Washington state principal credential. Ability to work in a team environment that promotes quality principles and continuous improvement. Visionary leadership skills that include high standards for staff and parents in meeting the learning needs of all students. Strong leadership skills in aligning classroom instruction and assessment with district and state standards. Effective planning skills that translate building and district goals into effective strategies to improve student learning. High integrity and strong organizational and management skills. Demonstrate flexibility, resourcefulness, and a respect for others. Ability to improve teaching and learning through effective staff supervision. Proven background of effective communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, staff and community. Collaborative approach to learning improvement and the ability to facilitate consensus. Commitment to ensuring equity and inclusion of a diverse population. Proven ability to be a productive member of the district’s leadership team. Demonstrated knowledge of district supported frameworks such as PBIS and SEL curriculum and classroom support. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

CONTRACT PROVISIONS: The successful candidate will be offered a continuing contract in accordance with the district-established Principals & Directors salary schedule.

Other benefits include $3,000 annually for professional growth and development, transportation allowance of $100-$150/month and cell phone stipend of $150/month.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
