Summary

Assist the HR Director with human resource duties and functions, including, but not limited to, processing of payroll, benefits administration, new hire orientation & subsequent paperwork, with a focus on assistance with overall selection and recruitment process for employees and internal staff training.

Essential Duties

Service

· To assure member service is top priority whether internally or externally; treat members and employees professionally with courtesy and respect. Keeps “Our Promise” to our members.

· Act as staff contact for payroll/employment related questions and changes such as tax updates, request of forms, and general policy related inquires and general guidance on the interpretation of policies as they relate to employees and the Credit Union’s objectives.

· Provide effective orientation and education to all new hires.

· Assist with exit interviews to all employees leaving the credit union.

Benefits Administration

· Assist department and staff with leave related requests and process them accordingly following internal/external rules and regulations.

· Responsible for managing any worker’s compensation related injuries and/or issues which includes working directly with employee & supervisor from obtaining initial report, issuing authorizations for treatment, and ensuring proper documentation is received for employee to return to work.

· Ensure proper reporting related to State Unemployment.

Recruitment

· Assist with the selection and recruitment of employees’ credit union wide, assist with interviewing candidates and provides direction to managers and supervisors about the interview process; develops relationship with external employment sources such as employment agencies, trade schools, and high school programs.

Payroll & Employee Information

· Assist in processing payroll each cycle and audits payroll to ensure accuracy for salary increases, status changes (promotions, demotions, etc), attendance & time keeping, time off accrual & usage, benefit & payroll deductions, and any other payroll adjustments.

· Assist in maintaining HR specific software and databases to ensure up-to-date, accurate employee data is always available.

Compliance

· Ensure effective communication to staff of policies and follow up with management level staff for documentation of policy infringements. Work closely with management to ensure that disciplinary actions are carried out according to policy and in a consistent and fair manner.

· Responsible for personnel files including conducting an annual audit of these files to ensure PTCU meets legal requirements.

· Maintains job descriptions; reviews job descriptions before the grading process and assists managers with job grading procedures.

Other

· Perform other duties as requested by the HR Director or Senior Managers

Role:

Employee shall demonstrate an understanding of and follow the requirements of all regulation compliance including but not limited to those Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Member Due Diligence (MDD) as it specifically relates to their job functions. Employee shall be trained annually in BSA/AML compliance.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Two to five years experience in human resources capacity or related field.

· Always maintain a high level of confidentiality. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.

· The ability to generate new and unique ideas as solutions to human resources issues, processes, and offerings.

· Present a professional image in all forms of communication including interpersonal and telephone communication skills.

· Type 45 WPM with proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Possess working knowledge of payroll related principals as well as issues and laws surrounding human resources functions.

· Must have a proactive attitude toward members, supervisors, co-workers, and the credit union.

· Excellent presentation skills with proficient oral and written communications.

· Nature of position requires physical mobility and the ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.

· Must have flexibility to deal with changing work hours and locations as needed.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
