Job Summary:
The Cannabis Laboratory Account Payable/Front Desk Receptionist oversees the daily operations of a cannabis testing laboratory, ensuring compliance with state regulations and maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety. The role involves coordinating laboratory activities, managing equipment, managing account payable, and ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of test results.
Key Responsibilities:
a) Laboratory Operations Management:
· Coordinate and oversee daily laboratory operations.
· Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Communicate with the laboratory customer services representatives.
· Coordinate staff hours to ensure full coverage for testing and process the samples.
b) Equipment and Inventory Management:
· Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, including cleaning and maintenance logs.
· Coordinate the calibration and repair of equipment as needed.
· Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and order new materials as necessary.
c) Sample Management:
· Coordinate the receipt, handling, and processing of cannabis samples.
· Ensure proper documentation and tracking of samples from receipt to disposal.
d) Data Management and Reporting:
· Ensure accurate data entry and maintain laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
· Review test results before reporting.
· Prepare and deliver reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
· Accept and receiving daily manifest(s) from METRC, ensure that the samples entry on our LIMS system match the METRC manifest.
e) Account Payable & Collection Specialist :
- Create and maintain billing invoices to the different customers.
- ability to post different type of customer' payment (checks, ACH, Wire, quickbooks electronic payment, .... etc) on Quickbooks
- ability to create statements per monthly basis.
- ability to communicate with different customers regarding their accounts.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, biology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
· At least 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the cannabis industry.
· Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
· Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong interpersonal communication skills with customers, staff and management.
· Proficient in using computer systems and office software (e.g., MS office, email systems)
· Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Preferred Skills:
· Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
· Familiarity with cannabis industry software and technology.
· Familiarity with QuickBooks, sending and receiving invoices and payment.
Working Conditions:
· Full-time position, typically Monday through Friday.
· May require occasional evening or weekend work.
· Work is performed in a laboratory environment, which may involve exposure to chemicals and other hazardous materials.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
· Ability to lift and move laboratory equipment and supplies up to 15 pounds.
