Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling all activities required in providing a safe environment for all patients and staff at the center.
Supervisory Relationships:
Reports to the Administrator
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plans and organizes activities related to specific clinical services to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with all professional standards such as state, federal, and accreditor bodies.
Helps develop, implement, and monitor policies & procedures at the center.
Reviews and submits for submission and changes as they relate to center policy and procedures
Coordinates daily surgical schedules
Coordinates all facility staffing.
Supervision and collection of all required records and reports.
Remains an active member of the center committees as delegated by the governing body.
Is an active part of management meetings.
Assists in the development, implementation, and carry out of all Quality Assurance activities
Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for staff and is an active participant in guidance and other educational programs.
Makes frequent rounds to all patient care areas to ensure continuity of care and adherence to center guidelines and standards.
Monitors and helps control department costs to maintain expenditures within allocations.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all areas within the center.
Qualification/Certifications/Licenses:
· Graduate of an Accredited Registered Nurse Program
· Current unrestricted State of New Jersey Nursing License
