Required Skills
- Must be able to join and be accepted into the Local 55 Sheet Metal Workers Union as a Sheet Metal Worker Apprentice. If qualified, Pro Mechanical Service can help facilitate the process.
- Blueprint Reading: The ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings to understand the layout and specifications of the HVAC system.
- Metal Fabrication: Proficiency in cutting, bending, shaping, and joining sheet metal using various tools and techniques, including shears, brakes, and welding equipment.
- Welding: Skill in welding techniques such as MIG and TIG welding to assemble metal components securely.
- HVAC System Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, including components like ductwork, fans, coils, and controls.
- Code Compliance: Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations to ensure installations meet industry standards.
- Tool Proficiency: Skill in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately and safely
- Physical: ability to climb ladders, work, and tour hazardous environments such as mechanical or boiler rooms and walk on high rise rooftops
- Must possess current driver’s license and maintain satisfactory driving record

Pay Scale:
$25.45 to $39.60 depending on experience and placement with the union.
