Survey Chief of Parties

Proactive Engineering Consultants (PEC) is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor with leadership skills and a passion for overseeing complex projects. We are looking for a Chief of Parties to lead our survey teams and ensure the success of large-scale surveying projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage field survey crews on various projects including boundary, topographic, and construction staking tasks.
• Maintain crew schedules and task assignments for three to five crews.
• Ensure all survey data and notes are accurate, precise, and completed promptly.
• Work directly with project managers, Engineers, and superintendents to communicate project updates and resolve any field issues.
• Perform quality control on all field data, create reports and provide recommendations for improvement of field practices.
• Train, mentor, and guide junior survey crew members, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal survey regulations and safety standards.

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in land surveying, with 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Expertise in survey data collection, boundary determination, and construction staking.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, accurate decisions in the field.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with teams, clients, and contractors.
• California L.S. or L.S.I.T. preferred.
