Overview
Industrial electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and parts, such as industrial machines and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Works with supervisor to ensure required maintenance is completed and performs any other duties assigned by the supervisor/management. That performance is in compliance with the Operational Excellence Plan for the Maintenance Department.
- An operational knowledge of industrial machinery which includes; hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls and power transmission systems.
- Must have strong PLC, CNC, PC trouble shooting and problem solving ability with practical, mechanical & electrical aptitude.
- Must be able to test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on production equipment, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.
- Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests at each piece of equipment and electronically on the Down Time log for Maintenance.
- Heads up installation and repairs of all electrical equipment.
- Has the ability to operate equipment to demonstrate proper use or to analyze malfunctions.
- Has the ability to run conduit in a professional manner following the National Electrical Code, wiring starters, motors, controls, and breaker panels.
- Sets personal goals and objectives with supervisor and continues to look for ways to improve quality and productivity.
- Knows and observes all safety procedures.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor/management.
- Is willing to travel as required for new technology training or increasing overall knowledge of maintenance functions.
- Will work flexible hours as needed to accomplish tasks required.
- Is trained in Arc Flash a plus.
- Performance is in compliance with the Operational Excellence Plan for the Maintenance Department.
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- Medium to advanced knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics & welding.
- Must be able to follow and troubleshoot electrical schematics and familiar with general blueprint reading.
- Must be familiar with and able to operate and troubleshoot PC, CNC and PLC operated equipment.
- 3-5 years of general maintenance background required.
