Overview
We are seeking a Technical Director of Business Analytics to lead the development of a new analytics function in a growing Construction/Industrial company. This is an opportunity to build and scale data infrastructure, reporting, and analytics from the ground up. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence while also being a hands-on leader capable of working in a startup-like environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and expand a data analytics team (starting with one direct report, growing to 5 ).
- Develop and scale data infrastructure, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
- Implement and optimize Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Power BI, and ETL pipelines.
- Drive data governance and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with executives to define and implement key business metrics and KPIs.
- Enhance process automation and support future AI/ML initiatives.
Must-Have Experience
- Industry Background: Construction or Industrial sector experience is required.
- Technical Leadership: Hands-on expertise in data engineering, analytics, and reporting.
- Cloud Data Engineering: Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Power BI.
- ETL & Data Architecture: Proven experience with building scalable data pipelines and integrations.
- Stable Work History: Must show longevity and career progression—no job hoppers.
- Enterprise-Scale Growth: Experience scaling a small-to-mid-sized company’s data capabilities to an enterprise level.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Trimble Viewpoint Vista ERP.
- Background in process improvement and automation tools.
- AI/ML exposure (but this is not a Data Science or ML Engineering role).
- Consulting experience for Construction/Industrial companies.
Salary : $150,000 - $185,000
