Job Summary:
As a CPA at Professional Mechanical Services, you will oversee our financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic insights to optimize business performance. Additionally, you will manage bookkeeping functions to ensure accurate and timely financial records. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and the home services industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions and reconciling bank accounts.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Maintain and update the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Prepare and process payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate cash flow statements.
- Organize and maintain financial documentation for internal and external audits.
Accounting and CPA Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and monitor budgets, financial forecasts, and cost analysis reports.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations; prepare and file tax returns.
- Conduct financial audits and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with management to create financial strategies for long-term growth.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with GAAP.
- Evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue growth.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and tax authorities as needed.
- Support management in business planning and decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping, preferably within the home services or similar industries.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, Service Titan.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
