Professional Search Group OC is looking for a detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our client's team on a temporary, part-time basis for approximately four months.The HR Generalist will be a key member of the team and support events, onboarding, and any employee related questions regarding leave of absence and workers compensation.

Schedule : Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday | 10 AM – 4 PM

Hours : 18 hours per week

HR Generalist Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and process HR data in Paychex, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager inquiries, providing guidance on HR processes and directing them to appropriate resources.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with employment laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Administer and manage company benefits and leave programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), workers' compensation, FMLA, and disability leave.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including company and team events.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding, processing employee data, benefits, and IT setup.
  • Review and assist in processing and approving HR-related invoices.
  • Handle data entry, personnel file maintenance, scanning, and document organization.
  • Coordinate monthly safety trainings and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Manage incoming HR mail, including EDD notices and garnishments.
  • Report accidents / incidents to workers' compensation insurance providers.
  • Assist with recruiting and phone screening for various departments.

HR Generalist Requirements :

  • 1 years of HR experience in a generalist or administrative capacity.
  • Experience with Paychex (preferred) or other payroll systems.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or distribution is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and judgment in handling HR matters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Bilingual – Spanish fluency required.
