Print Coordinator III - Temp to Hire

Summary:
The Digital Print Production Specialist III is a highly skilled and experienced professional responsible for leading and executing complex digital print production operations. This role requires a strong understanding of pre-press, digital printing, and finishing techniques, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Production: Oversee and guide junior team members in daily production activities, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.
- Digital Print Expertise:
- Operate and maintain high-end digital presses (e.g., Xerox DocuTecs/DC8000, Rizzos) for both color and black & white printing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex print-related issues, including file preparation, color management, and equipment malfunctions.
- Perform pre-flight checks on digital files, ensuring accuracy and compatibility with printing requirements.
- Conduct color matching and adjustments to achieve optimal print quality and meet customer expectations.
- Finishing Operations:
- Independently set up and operate a variety of finishing equipment, including but not limited to: stitching/trimming, folding, guillotining, binding, laminating, and other relevant finishing processes.
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all finishing tasks.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct rigorous quality inspections on all printed materials, ensuring they meet the highest standards of accuracy, color consistency, and overall quality.
- Identify and address any quality issues promptly.
- Customer Service:
- Collaborate with customers to understand their specific requirements and provide exceptional service.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding project status, potential issues, and solutions.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in pre-press software such as Xerox Free Flow or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, PitStop) or the ability to acquire this knowledge within one year of hire.
- Strong understanding of color management principles and industry quality standards (e.g., SNAP/GrayCol).
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall department performance.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in digital printing technology.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced print production environment.
- Proven experience operating high-end digital printing presses.
- Experience with a variety of finishing equipment.
- Skills:
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with offset printing or Ryobi presses.
- Knowledge of print workflow management systems
- Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance.
