Positions Summary

The Continuous Improvement Lead for Power Ends in Hydraulic Fracturing is responsible for identifying and implementing strategies to optimize the performance, reliability, and safety of power ends. This role will focus on monitoring and improving the design, operation, and maintenance of power ends, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve continuous improvement goals.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance power end performance through analysis, process improvements, and technological upgrades, with a focus on increasing operational efficiency and reducing unplanned downtime.
  • Data Analysis and Monitoring: Collect and analyze data from power end equipment to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Use data-driven insights to recommend changes to operational practices and equipment designs.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures, performance degradation, and operational challenges. Develop corrective actions and preventative measures to address recurring issues.
  • Collaboration with Operations and Engineering Teams: Work closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure the successful implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. Foster a collaborative culture focused on problem-solving and operational excellence.
  • Equipment Reliability: Drive the development and implementation of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies for power end equipment. Oversee regular maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
  • Process Optimization: Evaluate and optimize power end-related processes, including equipment installation, operation, and maintenance procedures. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all power end operations.
  • Cost Management: Identify opportunities to reduce costs associated with power end operations while maintaining high-quality and safety standards. Implement cost-effective solutions that improve productivity without compromising safety.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and mentoring to team members on best practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques for power end systems. Develop training materials and programs to enhance skills and knowledge within the team.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all power end operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote a safety-first culture by driving safety initiatives and conducting risk assessments.

Education And Experience

  • BS degree in engineering, science, business, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hydraulic fracturing operations, with at least 3 years focusing on power end equipment or similar systems.
  • Proven track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives in an industrial or energy-related field.
  • Experience with root cause analysis (RCA), failure modes, and reliability-centered maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Much be able to travel.
  • Demonstrated change management expertise and ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels. Positively transform the organizational culture to adapt to improved processes and performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills used to keep projects on track, overcome barriers, and deliver results.
  • Comfortable working in both manufacturing, operations, and office environments.
  • Experience leading groups and influencing at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with multiple disciplines such as manufacturing, engineering, or quality.
  • Demonstrated project management, organization, and planning skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Proficient user in Microsoft Office Suite programs. Power BI skills a plus.
  • Sensitive to confidential information.
  • Must work independently and as a member of team.

  • Ability to read, speak and write English
  • Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions
  • Sitting – at desk or computer station, standing, walking, speaking, hearing – frequent
  • Bending/Stooping, twisting, lifting – occasional
  • Gripping, reaching, writing, fingering (data entry), handling (paper, files, etc) – frequent
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times
  • Fine Motor Skills - typing, 10-key, ability to write for extended periods of time
  • Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and vendors
  • Seeing - able to see the computer screen
  • Climbing - able to go up and down stairs
  • Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by supervisor
