Cost Estimator (Pricing – GovCon)
The successful applicant will possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- 5 years of relevant DoD/IC or industry work experience with at least 1 year in an SAP and/or SCI environment within the past 5 years
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in classified accounting systems; Momentum preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) degree required
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Cost Estimator will utilize extensive contracting and pricing experience to provide counsel on technical issues and practical advice.
They will apply knowledge of federal, DoD, and Air Force contracting and pricing regulations, policies, and processes to specific situations.
Assisting Contracting Officers in determining cost objectives and ensuring they are based on sound pricing principles is also a key responsibility.
As the primary cost/price analyst, they will handle extremely complex or sensitive contracting issues.
In addition, they may serve on short-term and long-term teams to address specific or unprecedented pricing issues.
The Cost Estimator will serve as the technical expert in pricing-related matters and review contract price proposals for adequacy and compliance with laws, regulations, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
They will conduct in-depth analytical and judgmental evaluations of proposals to determine reasonableness, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
The position involves managing significant and complex agency acquisitions involving diverse supplies and services.
The Cost Estimator will evaluate technical, audit reports, and legal opinions to determine various cost elements or justified exceptions.
This role may involve formal supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, onboarding, oversight of timekeeping, performance assessments, task management, and reporting.
