Position Details:
Rewind Operator:
- Night Crew: Sunday - Thursday; 10's; 8P - 6A. (12-hour shifts/OT will be based on production level needs).
JOB SUMMARY
The Rewind Operator has knowledge of all types of product/paper that is run on the Rewind machine. Set up and operate the Rewinders to uphold quality per customer specifications in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Responsible for the quality of the product and does quality inspection check. Follow all safety procedures, understand all safety equipment and adhere to the company safety policies and procedures. The Rewind Operator will conduct general maintenance, cleaning and trouble-shooting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Perform Rewind machine set up to ensure the quality and efficiency of material being processed and ensure the continual operation of the machine.
2. The Rewind Operator must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to meet production deadlines.
3. Must understand and be able to perform all Rewind Helper duties to include: packaging, labeling, opening rolls, splicing, and roll tending.
4. The Rewind Operator must be able to competently utilize the company's ERP system (EPICOR) and any other necessary programs/systems required for the job.
5. Must be able to read and understand both internal (ProCon) and external (customer) job tickets.
6. The Rewind Operator performs quality control; detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions. Follow the Standard Operating Procedure to report any problems with the beginning or ending product. Make any necessary adjustments to correct the situation.
7. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow the prescribed safety regulations.
8. Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on Rewind machine as required.
Other Functions
1. The Rewind Operator will use different type of tools and equipment: pallet jacks, measuring devices, various hand tools, dial indicators and compactors. Also may be required to operate powered industrial trucks with proper certifications and permissions.
2. Must be able to work independently.
3. The Rewind Operator will have daily contact with co-workers, management, third party vendors and customers requiring courtesy, discretion and sound judgment. Understand they are a representative of the employer.
4. Required to perform all other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
