Automotive consumer coverage provider offering a comprehensive menu of fully insured new and pre-owned vehicle protection plans is seeking a self starting bookkeeper for our growing enterprise. With a focus on innovation and industry-leading service, Proguard Automotive is looking for a strong candidate to join our team. The primary responsibilities of this position is to support the Accounting and Cancellations departments by maintaining accounting records, general bookkeeping tasks, assisting with cancellations and scanning. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to perform a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties to support the Accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update accounting records and documentation, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoices, expenses, and other relevant financial records.
- Verify the accuracy of financial transactions and address any discrepancies through thorough investigation and resolution procedures.
- Carry out and oversee financial transactions, including payment processing, invoice management, and purchase order control.
- Prepare and/or process various electronic/paper forms, reports, records, invoices and/or correspondence, including journal entries, receipts, and refunds.
- Assists with reconciling accounts; posts, balances, and codes data; processes transactions; prepares related records, logs, and reports.
- Manage accounting records to ensure information is organized and accurately maintained.
- Research vendor statements, phone calls, and discrepancies.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the accounting department, including tasks such as handling phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining office supplies.
- Performs manual filing when needed, including the filing of original invoices and the “working copy” of all invoices.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of accounting, general office and bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in MS QuickBooks and Office software
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and concepts
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Particularly good organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
