Position Overview:
As a Development/Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of development projects, including websites (with a strong emphasis on WordPress), mobile apps, and other technical solutions. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, work closely with our internal development team, and coordinate all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
- Project Planning: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and internal teams. Create detailed project timelines, milestones, and resource plans.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with the development team to ensure project tasks are assigned, tracked, and completed on schedule. Address any roadblocks or resource constraints that arise.
- WordPress Management: Oversee WordPress development projects, including custom theme and plugin development, and ensure proper implementation of client requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee the testing and quality assurance process to ensure all deliverables meet technical requirements and client expectations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues when necessary to ensure project continuity.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track costs, and ensure that projects are delivered within agreed financial constraints.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate effective communication between internal and external stakeholders, including developers, designers, clients, and third-party vendors.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, reports, and technical specifications.
- PWI Strategic Plan: Manage individual initiatives related to Project World Impact’s strategic plan, contributing directly to business growth and project success.
Experience & Skills:
- Certification in PMP, ScrumMaster, or other relevant project management certifications.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Shopify, or custom platforms.
- Understanding of APIs, databases, and cloud-based technologies.
- Experience working with remote teams or distributed development teams.
Requirements:
- Must be available to work on-site in our Saint Charles, IL office.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, start-up agency environment requiring quick thinking, collaboration, and adaptability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience managing development or technical projects, preferably within a digital marketing agency or technology environment.
- Strong understanding of web development, app development, and other digital technologies.
- Proven experience managing WordPress development projects, including custom themes, plugins, and integrations.
- Experience using project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
