ProLytX Engineering IT experts bring innovative solutions to complex engineering problems. ProLytX is searching for a Desktop Support Specialist in the Houston, TX area. This opportunity requires an individual who enjoys technology, working on a team, and is looking for a place to grow professionally and personally. Desktop Support Specialists require technical know-how and first-hand knowledge of the tasks they are assigned to support client and in-house users for both on-premise and cloud systems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage tickets with internal and external clients to triage, solve and escalate issues.
- Create documentation for workflows, knowledge bases and client communications.
- Assist with system patching and enforcement of compliance standards.
- On-board and off-board users using Entra/M365.
Required Education/Skills/Experience:
- Two-Year Associate’s or technical degree/certificate in IT. Professionals with an experienced background may be exempted from this requirement.
- Able to clearly communicate with IT and non-IT professionals
- Ability to write in a clear and professional manner
- Experience with Entra/M365 user and group account management
- Experience with a ticketing system to manage reported issues
- Ability to work with ProLytX users to solve desktop IT issues with applications/services such as virtual private network clients, remote file sharing, and remote resource connectivity.
Highly Desired Education/Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science
- Experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud environment or other IaaS environments
- Experience in writing scripts (PowerShell, e.g.)
