What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Coordinator position at PROMAN Staffing?
PROMAN STAFFING has an opening for an Accounting Coordinator in Annapolis, MO. This is a position for an outgoing, eager and ambitious individual looking to advance their career in the accounting field. Reporting to the site’s Accounting Manager, the Accounting Coordinator assists the Plant Accounting department in the daily, weekly and monthly process.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Wage: Based on experience
Essential Duties include:
- Manage and process weekly hourly payroll for over 160 employees for paycheck generation, and be the point-of-contact for all payroll questions and inquiries.
- Responsible for reconciling payroll withholding accounts on the general ledger, recording daily labor information for all hourly employees, and preparing internal labor-related reports for Department Managers.
- Assist with month end closing activities and administering journal entry preparation.
- Responsible for invoice processing and other Plant AP requirements in computerized systems. Works with purchasing, vendors, and Corporate AP to solve issues with problem invoices.
- Monitor and complete numerous spreadsheets to assist with keeping accurate financial records and satisfy audit requirements, including payroll, utilities, journal entities and month end closing documentation.
- Provide administrative support to HR and Plant Management, and serve as the backup for the Plant Customer Service Representatives as-needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Technical knowledge/skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite, especially Excel and Google Sheets.
- Entry level knowledge of ADP payroll systems and other business systems (preferably Workday)
- Excellent math aptitude
- Familiar with standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable making oral presentations as needed.
- Must be able to multitask and have strong organizational skills and be able to meet tight deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- A HS Diploma is required with 2 or more years of experience in Accounting/Finance or Associates or Bachelor’s degree with 0 to 2 years of experience in Accounting/Finance.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in an office setting on a laptop computer but occasionally will require to be outdoors within the Plant environment as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Temp-to-hire
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
