Introducing The Shelborne by Proper, a holistic restoration of the iconic Miami beachfront hotel - re-opening in 2025. This extensive renovation will preserve the landmark's 1940 art deco distinction and authentic charm while modernizing interiors from top to bottom - all embracing the rich heritage originally crafted by Morris Lapidus and Igor Polevitzky, two of the most celebrated Art Deco architects of the mid-twentieth century.

The Shelborne will introduce four vibrant new food & beverage destinations to the neighborhood, each suited for warm weather dining, with an all-day signature restaurant, a lobby bar- lounge, and curated cafe. Resort amenities include a spacious pool and lush garden lounge, indoor-outdoor cabanas, sundeck terrace, state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated access to a private beach club, and more than 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting & event space.

Job Overview

The People & Culture Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the P&C department, ensuring seamless recruitment, employee engagement and administrative processes. This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about people, service and fostering a positive work environment in the luxury hospitality sector.

Key Responsibilities :

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist in recruiting top-tier hospitality talent, including job postings and coordinating interviews
  • Manage the onboarding process, including new hire paperwork, orientations and training coordination
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Support initiatives that enhance workplace culture, employee recognition and team-building activities
  • Serve as a resource for employees, addressing inquiries about benefits, policies and procedures
  • Assist in conflict resolution and provide support for performance management processes
  • HR Administration & Compliance

  • Ensure all HR documentation, including employment contracts, performance evaluations and disciplinary records are properly maintained
  • Monitor compliance with labor laws, safety regulations and company policies
  • Assist with payroll processing by tracking attendance, leave requests and employee records
  • Training & Development

  • Coordinate training sessions, workshops and professional development programs for employees
  • Assist department heads with scheduling and tracking employee training
  • Maintain training records and ensure employees meet necessary certifications
  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources, preferably in luxury hospitality or a boutique hotel setting
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in HR software, Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
