Computer Operator
Position Duration : Current Funding : Through 6 / 30 / 2025. Potential Extension : Historically extended for an additional year, from 7 / 1 / 2025 to 6 / 30 / 2026, dependent on final schedule and projected needs.
Interview Method : Conducted via Microsoft Teams with video enabled.
Work Location : This is a telework position. Candidates must reside within a reasonable driving distance of The Keystone Building in Harrisburg, PA.
Return to Office : If staff is ordered back to the office, the individual will be required to report to the office as directed.
Work Hours : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM.
Key Responsibilities :
This position is part of the Automations Unit in the Office of Administration, Technology Services Office (TSO) Infrastructure and Economic Development (IED) Delivery Center. It provides support for PennDOT, DCED, and PEMA.
Duties include :
1. Production Workload Scheduling and Coordination :
Provide daytoday technical support for workload scheduling and job execution across four platforms in two datacenters.
2. Mainframe Technology Expertise :
Working knowledge of mainframe technology, including z / OS operating system, IMS, DB2, VTAM, SDSF, ITOM, and JES2.
3 . Collaboration with Application Teams :
Collaborate with application development teams to understand business initiatives and ensure efficient production processing.
4. Change and Incident Requests :
Process requests through the BMC Remedy system, including coordination and analysis for production migration and workload applications.
5. Batch Job Scheduling :
Use Tivoli Workload Scheduler and Dynamic Workload Console to update and manage batch job calendars, period definitions, and run cycles.
6. Daily Reporting :
Communicate special job handling instructions vi 'Daily Report' emailed to the RTP Data Center.
7. Quality Assurance :
Ensure submitted change requests meet all requirements, approvals, and adhere to policies.
8. Exception Handling :
Process special job requests requiring emergency or unique handling, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
9. Policy Enforcement :
Understand and enforce policies related to workload scheduling services, including naming standards and error code handling.
10. Implementation and Release Support :
Provide evening or weekend coverage as needed for implementations or releases.

Reside within reasonable driving distance of The Keystone Building in Harrisburg, PA.
Ability to pick up equipment in person and comply with badging requirements.
Must adhere to teleworking and in-office policies as needed.
