JOB SUMMARY

PROSE Technologies is looking for an experienced, assertive Financial Controller to join our growing team in our Budd Lake, NJ facility. Reporting to the senior VP of finance, this hands-on managerial role will play a crucial role in the financial management of our company. This role will involve overseeing all financial operations, from planning budgets to managing internal controls. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate finance and proven experience in a managerial role, experience in process improvements, and the ability to effectively manage multiple assignments. The Financial Controller is also expected to be able to present effectively to all levels of the organization and produce financial statements along with other key reports for management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the financial activities of the company by evaluating its performance and proactively addressing potential risks.
  • Manage accounting activities and maintain general ledger and processes to ensure timely completion of all activities in accordance with company policies; ensure adherence to accounting laws and generally accepted accounting standards.
  • Develop budgets that meet the requirements of company departments.
  • Establish targets and manage all accounting and finance employees, including management accountants and internal auditors.
  • Lead local implementation of ERP system and process improvements.
  • Oversee all audit and internal control processes.
  • Ensure a seamless monthly, quarterly, and yearly close process.
  • Develop and implement plans for cost optimization and increased efficiency.
  • Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives.
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis.

BACKGROUND AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Minimum 8 years of accounting experience within manufacturing industry required.
  • Proven experience in finance management.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory control.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Very motivated self-starter with outstanding follow-through
  • Lean accounting and process improvement mindset.
  • Ability to explain financial results to non-finance leaders.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to work effectively in global environment.
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
  • CPA/CFA or similar certification would be great, but is not required.
  • Experience managing tax returns is a plus!
