Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Lead Installer to join our team. In this role, you will lead a team of technicians in the installation of fire alarm systems in various commercial and residential settings. You will be responsible for overseeing the installation process, ensuring quality and code compliance, and providing training and support to junior technicians. As a Lead Installer, you will play a key role in ensuring that fire alarm systems are installed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Experience with clean agent systems is a plus. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of installers during fire alarm system installations.
- Install, test, and configure fire alarm systems according to plans, codes, and manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and national fire codes and regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation to ensure accurate system installation.
- Train and mentor junior installers, providing guidance on best practices and safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during installation, ensuring systems function as designed.
- Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure timelines and expectations are met.
- Perform site inspections to verify project scope and determine installation requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including time logs, materials used, and project progress.
- Ensure that all necessary equipment and materials are on-site and ready for installation.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with system testing and commissioning to ensure fire alarm systems are fully operational before handover.
- Experience with clean agent systems (such as FM-200, Novec 1230, or other clean agent suppression systems) is a plus.
Requirements:
- NICET Level II
- State of Hawaii Fire Alarm System Level 2 certification or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in fire alarm system installation.
- Proven experience leading or supervising a team of technicians.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, components, and installation techniques.
- In-depth understanding of local, state, and national fire codes and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to train and mentor junior staff on technical and safety aspects of installations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with various fire alarm systems such as Notifier, Simplex, Autocall, and FCI.
- Familiarity with low-voltage wiring and electrical systems.
- Experience with clean agent systems or suppression systems (FM-200, Novec 1230, etc.).
- Security system installation experience (CCTV, access control) is a plus.
