Job Description:
- Provide support for both new and ongoing projects within the Puget Sound Laboratory Portfolio.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory space.
- Attend project meetings, either virtually or in-person as required.
- Coordinate inter-lab deliveries with logistics providers and storage support organizations.
- Address procurement needs of the laboratory team as necessary.
- Collaborate with external vendors and facilities staff to ensure scheduled maintenance of laboratory sites.
- Assist with construction and infrastructure update efforts, maintaining communication channels with contractors.
- Demonstrate excellent computer and technical skills; proficiency with organizatio applications and virtual meeting platforms is essential.
- Possess a technical background with experience in datacenter environments and networking preferred.
- Experience with control systems and/or data acquisition systems preferred.
- Exhibit motivation, critical thinking, time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Provide on-premises assistance and support for computer equipment operations and other technical issues.
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot systems including servers, network switches, and peripheral devices.
- Possess thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components.

- The R&D Computer Technician manages daily operations and maintenance of our Puget Sound Area labs.

- Compile lists of items and consumables that require re-stocking and update the procurement sheet accordingly.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on laboratory equipment.
- Assist in the setup and teardown of projects.
- Setup telemetry and data acquisition systems, collect telemetry data and test results from ongoing projects.
- Install and configure new systems and equipment.
- Attend project meetings and provide feedback as required.
- Approach tasks with a professional, courteous, and collaborative attitude.
- Set up computers with new operating systems and software configurations.
- Configure networks for new user systems.
- Perform system updates to ensure all systems are current.
- Create and assign virtual machines as needed.
- Conduct data backups regularly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system failures and bugs.
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt, multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Purpose of the Team: This team is the advanced development lab for DC groups. They build and test everything like battery systems, animation cooling systems, etc.
- Key projects: This role will contribute to networking.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 20% meetings, 30% documentation, 50% misc. tasks.
- Must Have 3 years’ experience with networking.
- Must Have 3 years’ experience with working with servers.
- Must Have 3 years’ experience with hand tools.
- 3-5 overall years of experience in the field.
- No degree is required to be eligible for this role.
- The ideal resume would contain previous experience in Data Center roles.

- Pay Range: $56/hr. to $72.50/hr.
