Position Summary
The EDI Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring the efficient exchange of EDI data between the company, its customers, carriers, and suppliers. This role centers on configuring and maintaining EDI integrations within a proprietary Transportation Management System (TMS), which interfaces with Microsoft Logic Apps to facilitate seamless data exchange across stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- EDI Configuration & Maintenance:
- Configure and maintain EDI transactions within the proprietary TMS, ensuring integration with Microsoft Logic Apps for data exchange between stakeholders.
- Establish and manage EDI connections with trading partners, developing and testing EDI maps to ensure seamless data flow.
- Manage key EDI transaction sets, including 204, 211, 214, 210, 990, and 997, ensuring smooth processing and operational accuracy.
- Operational Support & Troubleshooting:
- Work closely with back-office teams to ensure accurate processing of EDI 210 transactions related to invoicing and financial workflows.
- Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot daily inbound and outbound EDI transactions, ensuring continuous, error-free operation.
- Investigate and resolve issues, to minimize disruptions in business operations.
- Testing & Validation:
- Conduct comprehensive end-to-end testing of EDI transactions with business users and external partners to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Validate project deliverables in collaboration with developers, ensuring long-term supportability and system stability.
- Develop detailed test cases to guide the development team in verifying functionality and resolving potential issues.
- Documentation & Process Management:
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for EDI policies, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and system configurations.
- Correct and reprocess any failed EDI translations or transmissions, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with internal teams, trading partners, and suppliers to optimize system performance and ensure EDI transaction accuracy.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, milestones, challenges, and go-live timelines.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity on integration projects.
- System Maintenance & Optimization:
- Continuously monitor, maintain, and optimize EDI integrations within the TMS system and Microsoft Logic Apps.
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for EDI-related issues.
- Document system configurations, integration workflows, and support procedures to ensure long-term maintainability.
- Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure EDI transactions comply with relevant industry standards, financial transaction protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay up to date on evolving EDI technologies, integration trends, and best practices to maintain system relevance and efficiency.
Education, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4 years of experience in a Business or Technical Analyst role.
- 4 years of experience working with EDI ANSI X12 and EDIFACT standards.
- 4 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Expertise with EDI technologies, including SQL Server, FTP, SFTP, AS2, and VAN.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Highly organized, self-driven, and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
- Proficiency in SQL queries and Microsoft Teams for communication and collaboration.
- Experience configuring and supporting EDI 210 transactions and other key EDI sets.
- Experience configuring EDI integrations within proprietary TMS systems and Microsoft Logic Apps.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical details to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of data formats such as JSON and XML.
- Ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies and integration practices.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, including for data analysis, reporting, and flowcharting.
- Degree in Management Information Systems or IT-related fields.
