Pharmacist-in-Charge Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Pharmacist-in-Charge to oversee the operations of The Specialty Pharmacy at Holyoke Medical Center.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for The Specialty Pharmacy.
- Manage, oversee, and operate all aspects within the pharmacy in accordance with professional, ethical, and legal standards of proper pharmacy practice.
- Supervise pharmacy staff involved in the pharmacy workflow, including hiring, training, data entry, verification, and dispensing of medications.
- Purchase and control inventory of the pharmacy.
- Verify and complete billing & remittance documents in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge of therapeutics, pricing, and patient assistance programs through meetings with pharma representatives.
- Monitor and make recommendations to fulfillment staff on inventory management.
- Address HCP pharmaceutical issues and drug information questions.
- Review, edit, and approve marketing and website information prior to publication.
- Maintain Quality Assurance tracking program.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant specialty pharmacy experience.
- 1 year of supervisory pharmacy management experience preferred.
- Ability to supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex new software.
