Job Summary

General Summary: Manage, direct and control work assigned to a Salem Engineering Branch in the areas of Mechanical, Systems, Civil, Electrical and I&C. Responsible for the engineering activities in support of the safe and efficient operation of Salem Generating Station.

Engineering Branch Manager – Salem reports to the Engineering Director - Salem and/or Senior Manger Plant Engineering .


Job Responsibilities

The Salem Plant Engineering Branch Manager responsibilities include:

Leading a team of eight to twelve engineers responsible for ensuring plant equipment operates reliably through development of effective maintenance plans, monitoring of equipment performance, and championing repairs or modifications as necessary to maximize equipment performance.


Lead and support troubleshooting activities to resolve emergent equipment challenges.

Oversee development of assessments for degraded systems or components to determine their ability to perform a specific function.


Providing outage engineering support which may require shift work/off hours support.

Participation in the Emergency Response Organization, in which the successful candidate will be assigned a specific duty.


Respond to technical inquiries from maintenance and provide responses to support online work.

Job Specific Qualifications


REQUIRED:

  • BS degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent experience as an engineer in a Commercial Nuclear Power Plant.
  • Minimum of 5 years nuclear industry experience
  • Availability for Shift Work during plant outages and generation challenges.
  • Must meet and maintain Unescorted Nuclear Plant Access.
  • Must meet U.S. Dept of Energy requirements for access to nuclear technology information under 10 CFR 810.


DESIRED:

  • Multiple years of supervisory experience;
  • Seven to ten years of experience in Nuclear Power Plant Experience (including operations, chemistry, radiation protection, or maintenance roles)
  • Master's Degree
  • Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
