What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharma Line Production Operator position at PTI Georgia LLC?
*This is a 2nd shift role*
**Shift hours are 4:15PM - 2:45AM, Mon-Thurs w/ OT as required**
Our packaging operators are part of a team that strives to make our customers happy through the following functions:
POSITION SUMMARY
Production Operators are responsible for the performance and efficiency of operations in support of the manufacture of contract products. Production Operators will be responsible for the execution of all production processes while adhering to cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures, documentation protocols, environmental health and safety guidelines and any other related regulations that could apply.
The Production Operator is expected to fully participate in departmental projects and any quality working teams that may be applicable. Supports the Production Lead and Monitors (in their area(s) of responsibility). Supports production, operations projects and process improvements. Maintains accurate and compliant documentation on all activities.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Is at position on the line ready to start production as required.
- Monitors the production process, makes periodic checks and adjusts equipment or work practices to maximize production efficiency, yields, quality and safety.
- Performs operator-level machine adjustments. Assists other production associates with minor machine repairs and set-up.
- Reviews approved identification tag against packaging release
- Perform and maintain check weights, bottle sorter, and bundler according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure only approved products enter production room
- Breakdown all recycled product and waste
- Ensures that line conditions are acceptable to change from one product to another by ensuring that materials, paperwork, and equipment have been staged for changeover.
- Maintains stations with acceptable product
- Inspect finished product to include but not limited to; defects, open caps, illegible codes, contamination, cap closure, codes, label placement and cleanliness
- Operate skid lift and respective paperwork
- Will immediately stop manufacturing and notify Production Leader of any safety or quality concerns.
- Disassembles, cleans and reassembles equipment according to SOPs.
- Ensures proper inspections are conducted
-Maintains, cleans and assembles Vac-U-Max system
- Assists in the training of individuals on equipment and processes in the department.
- Follows all EHS rules and regulations. Accepts accountability for own personal safety and identifies potential unsafe conditions to help prevent self and co-workers from being injured.
- Follows safe working practices in the execution of their assigned duties.
- Actively participates in general site and departmental Safety initiatives.
- Maintains clean work area; clear away debris, damaged or defective product, cartons, labels and packaging supplies.
- Makes initial attempts to identify root cause within scope of decision-making authority while simultaneously notifying next level of leadership.
- Assists technicians at other stations/ production lines within the department as needed.
- May be crossed-trained in other functions
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years machine operation experience
