Job Description
The Central Monitoring Investigator will play a key role in the Public Storage (GSOC) Global Security Operations Center monitoring security threats, analyzing incidents and supporting incident response efforts within a 24 / 7 environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work primarily overnight shifts in a GSOC environment addressing a variety of security and safety related occurrences.
Monitor properties through surveillance cameras and alarm tracking software for security incidents property support.
Dispatch emergency responses to police, fire, etc. as needed.
Collect and validate intelligence, while assessing the credibility and reliability of open-source information.
Observe and report on a wide range of issues such as criminal incidents, emergencies, natural disasters and threat related trends.
Serve as initial command element during emergency or crisis situations.
Complete external threat monitoring and provide rapid communications to employees and stakeholders, as needed.
Communicate with senior security management on matters related to employee welfare, global incidents, operational issues and critical situations.
Ability to manage and handle situations of a sensitive nature and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of relevant experience in a retail loss prevention or security operations role, preferably working in a GSOC or other similar environment.
Familiarity with security tools, incident monitoring tools and incident management procedures.
Competence with Microsoft Office Suite and other database systems.
Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of security system applications and integration, including video management and alarm monitoring systems.
Familiarity with standard security communication protocols and security tools.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to intake, evaluate and sift through large quantities of information.
Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
Able to work with others in a closed-door environment.
Able to work overnight shifts, weekends and irregular or extended hours.
