What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Project Manager, Marketing Operations position at Publix?
As a Marketing Project Manager, you’ll orchestrate project planning and manage all lifecycle phases in the areas of advertising, private label packaging, store environmental design, or circular. This position is part of the Marketing PMO and works across the Marketing department, with business partners, and suppliers to drive several campaigns and projects simultaneously. As an astute problem-solver, you’ll continuously mitigate risks affecting project development and execution, develop solutions, and maintain communication with internal and external project stakeholders and suppliers on project status, resourcing, issues, and risks to ensure projects meet objectives and are completed on time and within budget. The Marketing Project Manager reports to the Manager of Marketing Project Leadership.
- developing and managing marketing planning for assigned work product and lines of business on an annual, quarterly and ad hoc basis due to shifts in business priorities,
- the implementing and ongoing project management of Publix Marketing campaigns and projects
- estimating project resource needs to aid in the establishment and ongoing management of proper Marketing resource allocation,
- directing and managing third party suppliers that are assisting in campaign or project execution and production. Suppliers are both internal and external to Publix and include, but are not limited to: magazine publications, advertising agencies, design firms, digital production suppliers, and packaging pre-press suppliers,
- cross-training of campaign and project lifecycles with peers in the Marketing department on an on-going basis. This cross-training includes explanation of the lifecycle phases from project initiation to completion, key milestones and alternative project paths, etc. May also include assisting others with basic training for utilization of the MRM system,
- dedicating time to Marketing innovation and quality improvement, and
- managing special Marketing Operations related assignments, which can include but is not limited to: project management, executing reporting, and presenting results to executive leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, or equivalent experience
- at least two (2) years of project management experience in marketing, advertising, or design
- knowledge of annual planning related to area of assignment, including the Marketing Annual Communication Plan (ACP), annual Corporate Purchasing category review process, new product development, Store Environmental development plans, and annual circular schedules
- knowledge of the five performance domains related to project management
- knowledge of project management knowledge areas as they relate to Marketing
- knowledge of project management software
- basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook)
- basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro
- basic knowledge of enterprise Digital Asset Management (DAM) system
- knowledge of advertising agency, design firms and design production suppliers’ employee resources and processes
- knowledge of the marketing department workflow processes and project lifecycles
- knowledge of digital, printing, and distribution processes
- astute attention to detail and accuracy
