BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Senior Accountant will support the Controller by preparing and maintaining financial records for multiple entities to track the organizations’ assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, month end close and other related financial activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role, with at least 4 years of relevant experience in similar industry (e.g., Healthcare)
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, best practices, and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Duties:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets and forecasts, providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, including month-end and year-end close processes.
- Audit Coordination: Work closely with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Tax Compliance: Manage tax compliance processes, including the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns and ensuring adherence to local tax regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis, trend analysis, and other financial assessments to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
- Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the finance team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.

Explanation: This position has access to confidential information such as social security numbers, dates of birth, credit card numbers, bank account information and HIPAA information.
Does this position have access to or handle company funds? Yes
Explanation: This position has access to all payroll information in PAYCOM, individual bank accounts for electronic direct deposits in multiple Banks and has access to all company credit cards and accounts in multiple Banks with viewing rights. This position can print company checks but must obtain authorized signatures for validity.
Is it important to this position the incumbent be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English? Yes
Explanation: Most affiliated personnel (i.e. co-workers, doctors and vendors) and a majority of our patients communicate with our administrative office in English.
What kind of work experience, training, and/or level of education is necessary for this position? This position requires a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Accounting. Must possess extensive knowledge of accounting procedures and software (QuickBooks is preferred) to perform essential duties.
List any technical skills (typing, computer skills, etc.): The technical skills required by this position include, but are not limited to, typing, proper grammatical skills, use of 10-key, computer proficiency, faxing, scanning, copying and proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Are there particular working conditions associated with this position that should be noted (i.e., working environment, hours of work, travel, work space, etc.)? Yes
Explanation: The working environment is in a quiet administrative office. This position must carry out his/her duties in an average sized workspace. The hours of work may vary depending on the necessities of the company. Occasional travel will be required to outpatient facilities and affiliated hospitals to carry out essential duties.
