BOOKKEEPER
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Bookkeeper is responsible for the daily financial operations of the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association. A high-profile role, it requires outstanding customer service, communication and organizational skills; excellent utilization of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office; a high degree of judgement, initiative and confidentiality; and a commitment to the mission and values of the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association. Full-Time
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing twice-monthly payroll and maintaining personnel files;
- Preparing and submitting payroll taxes;
- Maintaining and processing accounts receivable and payable;
- Preparing and submitting invoices;
- Posting/recording all QuickBooks entries;
- Preparing bank deposits;
- Processing electronic check deposits;
- Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts;
- Working with the CPA and board treasurer to prepare monthly reports;
- Preparing and submitting monthly sales tax, including club sales tax amounts received from treasurer;
- Ordering supplies;
- Monthly tracking of educational classes to prepare and submit instructor payments;
- Maintaining an accounting of rental security deposits and fees;
- Preparation of year-end W-2s and 1099s;
- Annual budget preparation and tracking.
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
- Answering phones and responding to voice mail and email messages;
- Assisting members and visitors with new membership sign-ups, dues payments and general inquiries;
- Conducting facility tours;
- Assisting members with the Loaner Program;
- Assisting with all coordination of The Commentator monthly magazine production content and mailing;
- Assisting with the annual Member Directory production;
- Adding/editing classes and events to Calendar Wiz and edit as needed;
- Monitoring and adding/deleting events/pages to website as needed;
- Assisting customers with private event bookings;
- Assisting in scheduling and training of office volunteers;
- Accurately recording all membership information in membership database;
- Setting up and operating audio/visual equipment for members and customers as needed;
- Assisting with PGICA events and attending as warranted;
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and/or hands.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
