ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Approve all credit applications up to $25,000; obtain supervisory approval in excess of $25,000
- Ensure credit files are maintained with current information and collection comments
- Monitor collection progress made by store manager and determine when to take collection activity from store
- Review, revise, and approve customer credit limits, as appropriate
- Inform stores of customers that are past due sixty (60) days and have been put on C.O.D.
- Forward accounts to collection agencies
- Monitor collection agencies regarding progress
- Assist store managers with credit issues
- Research payment application issues
- Follow up with NSF check collections
- Respond to bankruptcy notices and maintain follow up files
- Provide weekly aging reports to CFO and CEO; bi-weekly reports to managers
- Charge back salesmen commission for accounts that are 90 days past due
- Maintain Sales Tax Exemption forms for customers (Cash & Credit Sales) at corporate office
- Embrace Purcell’s culture of safety and perform all tasks in a safe manner
- Regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule
- Ability to perform physical requirements as listed in job description
- Other essential and non-essential duties, as assigned by management
- Review public financial information released by Mining Customers with CFO on a quarterly basis
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum Job-Specific Experience: 3-5 years
- Management Experience: 1-2 years
- Driver’s License Required: Yes
- Other Job-Specific Licenses or Certifications Required: CPA Recommended

- Deal with Unpleasant People – during the course of collections, must be able to remain even-tempered and goal-driven.
Tools & Technology KSA’s:
- Computers and Programs — Knowledge and proficient use of computer hardware and software (AS400, Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint, Accounting software)
- Typing – Ability to type at 55 wpm
- Calculator – Efficient skill with a calculator
- Phone Systems – Ability to operate phone systems for the effective communication of information to interested parties
