Purdue University Northwest is seeking a Research Assistant. The primary responsibility is to research in Food Safety and Mycotoxins.
This position is part-time working approximately 30 hours/weekly. Benefits do apply.
- Prepare samples required for analysis
- Maintain labs and equipment, to include cleaning, adjusting, and calibrating
- Prepare order for supplies, equipment and instrumentation needed for labs. Receive, stock, and maintain records of inventory
- Perform other duties as assigned

- One year or more in microbiology or biology lab
- Research experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field; Master of Science, preferred.
- Fungal culture, microbiology, mycology
- Effective verbal & written communication
- Strong time management, multitasking, organization, planning, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills are essential
- Ability to work independently, pay attention to details, and get work done in a timely manner is required
