Job Summary
This position represents a dual-level posting and will be filled at an Administrator level or Senior level.
Post-Award Sponsored Funding Administrator (P2 Career Level):
The Post-Award Sponsored Funding Administrator will work on a team to provide general or specialized post-award support for grants and contract portfolios. This position will be responsible for meeting established account management expectations, identifying deviations, and resolving account management problems. This role will serve as liaison to the sponsor(s) and partner with Business Office, faculty, and other university personnel in the fiscal management of grants and contracts. Additionally, this individual may manage project tasks and make improvements to enhance the Post-Award process.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field
- Two (2) years of experience in research administration, business administration, accounting, or related field
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered (Associate's 4 years of experience; HS/GED 6 years of experience)
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, strong attention to detail, and a focus on superior customer service
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and implement uniform guidance; federal, state, and sponsor guidelines; and university policies and procedures
- Excellent communication, planning, problem-solving, analytical, project management, and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Must be able to manage a consistent workload in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
- Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes
- Ability to operate within the university’s financial, HR, and ERA systems
- Personal computer and related software skills, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database, data inquiry, Internet, etc.
Preferred:
- Business Services or Sponsored Program Services experience
Senior Post-Award Sponsored Funding Administrator (P3 Career Level):
The Senior Post-Award Sponsored Funding Administrator will work on a team to provide general or specialized post-award support for the grants and contracts portfolio. This position will be responsible for meeting established account management expectations, identifying deviations, and resolving account management problems.
The individual in this role will serve as liaison to the sponsor(s) and partner with Business Office, faculty, and other university personnel in the fiscal management of grants and contracts. Additional duties include: managing projects and making improvements to enhance the Post-Award process. This role may train, mentor, and review the work of lower-level professionals.
Required:
All requirements of P2 Career Level, PLUS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field
- Four (4) years of experience in research administration, business administration, accounting, or a related field
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered (Associate's 6 years of experience; HS/GED 8 years of experience)
Preferred:
- Business Services or Sponsored Program Services experience
