The Manager of Business Development will assist in planning and implementing a development and fundraising program to provide for the short- and long-term needs of the organization. They are responsible for their company’s sales, and business development professionals. Their duties include comparing current sales numbers to desired quotas, delegating sales and marketing tasks among team members and meeting with upper management to discuss their progress.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversees the financial development office and staff.
Assigns, plans, and oversees the work of departmental staff.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Assist in setting annual monetary goals and budgets according to short- and long-term goals.
Developing in-depth knowledge of company offerings to identify profitable business opportunities.
Assessing sales as well as supplier and vendor operations and recommending improvements as needed.
Preparing all documentation required for requests for proposals (RFPs).
Researching emerging trends and recommending new company offers to satisfy customers’ needs.
Developing and managing strategic partnerships to grow business.
Presenting business or marketing opportunities to company executives and management.
Conducts research and applies for potential sources of grants and public funding.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
High school diploma or equivalent is required, bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Five years of experience as a branch leader.
Proven track record of managing business development and sales professionals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
