The Fire Alarm Designer will play a vital role in crafting safe and efficient fire alarm systems. Utilizing expertise in fire safety codes, engineering principles, and industry standards, the ideal candidate will design customized fire alarm systems tailored to clients' needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed shop drawings/plans using AutoCAD, adhering to applicable codes and manufacturer requirements.
- Conduct site surveys to assess fire risks and building layouts, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements, ensuring seamless execution.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and codes to develop comprehensive designs.
- Develop detailed schematics and plans for fire alarm installations using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- P Prepare submittals and material lists, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Foster strong communication with local officials, engineers, architects, and customers, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Stay updated on advancements in fire alarm technology and regulations, ensuring compliance and optimal system performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager, contributing to team goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
- Experience with Notifier, Siemens, Firelite, or Silent Knight fire alarm systems.
- AUTO CAD experience is an asset; other drafting programs may be considered.
- NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems is a plus.
- Excellent business communications skills, both written and oral.
- Self-motivated, dedicated, organized, and a team player with good communication and organization skills.
