Position Overview :
Old Dominion Freight is seeking an HR Systems Generalist with deep expertise in Workday
HCM to join their team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will be
a Workday SME or super user, supporting HR technology initiatives, system enhancements,
troubleshooting, and end-user training. This role requires strong functional knowledge of
Workday HCM modules and the ability to collaborate with HR, IT, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
Serve as the Workday HCM SME, providing guidance on system capabilities and best
practices.
Support Workday HCM configuration, security, and business process changes.
Act as a liaison between HR and IT teams to identify and implement system
improvements.
Troubleshoot system issues, conduct root cause analysis, and provide resolution.
Assist in data integrity, reporting, and Workday analytics.
Train HR users and employees on Workday functionality and enhancements.
Work closely with HR leadership to optimize system processes and automation.
Participate in system testing for updates, enhancements, and releases.
Qualifications :
3 years of experience as a Workday HCM Super User or SME in a corporate HR
environment.
Strong understanding of Workday HCM modules, including Core HCM, Reporting, and
Business Processes.
Experience in HRIS administration, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
Ability to translate business needs into system functionality.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Prior experience with HR technology implementations or upgrades is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, IT, or a related field preferred.
