QISG is seeking a Financial Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team in Overland Park, KS. This role is ideal for a highly skilled Power BI expert with a strong ability to develop insightful, accurate, and visually compelling dashboards that align with company branding. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting—whether through direct experience or by supporting an accounting team in a BI capacity—and possess a broad skillset in business intelligence, including SQL, database structures, data modeling, Power Apps / Automation, and potentially coding.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Data Analytics, the Financial BI Analyst will work closely with the Controller and other accounting department leaders, embedding within the accounting function to fully understand data needs and BI requirements. You will be responsible for developing a BI roadmap, delivering impactful solutions, and leveraging your expertise to enhance efficiency and decision-making across the organization. Your work will drive measurable business improvements and provide invaluable insights to key stakeholders. Additionally, you will spend up to one-third of your time assisting our database developer with backend tasks such as data validation, ETL processes, Power Apps, and other BI-related support work.

Duties

  • Lead data analytics and business intelligence efforts for assigned business functions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize BI initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap of data analytics projects for Accounting.
  • Partner with the database developer to onboard data sources into our data warehouse.
  • Refine and join datasets to create use case specific business schemas / views.
  • Build interactive dashboards using Power BI and/or Incorta to provide actionable insights.
  • Perform ad hoc business analyses to address specific challenges or opportunities.
  • Validate data for accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitor and address ETL failures as needed.
  • Assist with Power Apps creation, updates, and enhancements.
  • Handle ad hoc BI requests in support of database developer and BI team members.
Required Education and Experience
Education:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
  • 5 years of experience developing high-quality, executive-polished dashboards and reporting content.
  • Proven track record of creating visually appealing and insightful BI solutions that drive business decision-making.
  • Accounting experience is required, either through direct work in finance / accounting or by supporting accounting teams with BI solutions.
Skills
  • Power BI: Advanced expertise in Power BI is required; familiarity with Incorta is a plus.
  • DAX, Power Query, and SQL: Strong proficiency in building complex metrics, calculations, and data transformations.
  • Data Integration: Experience working with diverse data sources and creating well-structured, efficient datasets.
  • Data Validation: Ability to work with ETL processes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Database Development: Strong understanding of SQL, database structures, and data modeling for effective data management.
  • Microsoft Power Platform: Familiarity with Power Automate, Power Apps, Forms, Lists, and SharePoint is beneficial for automating non-systemic data sources.
  • Coding (Preferred, Not Required): Experience with C#, Python, or similar programming languages is a plus.
  • Prior source system experience with JD Edwards (JDE) and EcoSys is preferred.
