TITLE: BSA & Security Compliance Specialist
PAY GRADE & FLSA: 5 & Non-Exempt
Job Summary
The BSA & Security Compliance Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting the BSA & Security Officer in ensuring that the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), FinCEN and the Bank Protection Act related policies and procedures comply with the appropriate laws and regulations, and that the actions prescribed within those policies and procedures are carried out in a timely and effective manner.
Essential Functions
The minimum starting hourly wage for this position is $20.67 per hour. The actual wage will be based on qualifications and business needs and may vary, as permitted by applicable state law.

TITLE: BSA & Security Compliance Specialist

Job Summary
The BSA & Security Compliance Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting the BSA & Security Officer in ensuring that the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), FinCEN and the Bank Protection Act related policies and procedures comply with the appropriate laws and regulations, and that the actions prescribed within those policies and procedures are carried out in a timely and effective manner.
Essential Functions
- Provide prompt, courteous, and excellent service to internal and external customers always. This includes an obligation to actively cooperate and interact with departments and facilities to advance the overall interests of Quad City Bank & Trust and QCRH.
- Maintain a proficient knowledge of applicable compliance statutes, regulations, and interpretations.
- Assist in monitoring and performing research regarding customer activity related to the BSA by reviewing and investigating all suspicious activities reported by bank employees and identifying thru Verafin or other reports.
- Assist in ensuring the BSA Currency Transaction Reporting (CTR) process is performed accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to assisting in CTR filings and annual reviews of exempt accounts. Review all CTRs prior to submission for accuracy. Ensure that all CTRs are filed within regulatory time requirements.
- Assist with bi-annual High Risk Customer Reviews as identified by Verafin
- Complete monthly Monetary Instruments and Gift Card reviews.
- Process Garnishments and Levies received by the bank in a timely manner
- Log and respond to Subpoena requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with the review and approval of potential OFAC matches.
- Assist the BSA & Security Officer with monitoring and review of the security of the bank’s alarm and visual monitoring systems as needed.
- Assist with adding, deleting & updating employees in the Bank’s security systems
- Assist with actively updating robbery training and response information at each of the branch locations, facilitating security walk-throughs, maintaining records of same.
- Assist the BSA & Security Officer with retaining records of any robbery or other crime committed or attempted against the bank.
- Participation in community involvement is encouraged. This involvement can include professional, civic and community groups.
- Maintain education and professional expertise through attendance of job-related seminars, conferences, and workshops.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong attention to detail and ability to proof to ensure required report filings are accurate, for example CTR and Exempt filings.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all regulatory and compliance issues affecting the bank and its operation.
- Ability to identify and interpret discrepancies in BSA alerts.
- Ability to perform regulatory research.
- Ability to interface effectively with all internal and external contacts.
- Ability to manage and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment.
- Math, organizational, time management, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn current compliance laws and stay abreast of changes in this area.
- Ability to attend seminars in town and out of town, as well as in the evening if necessary.
- Ability to travel infrequently to other Bank or workshop locations.
- Ability to operate a computer proficiently with knowledge of various word processing and spreadsheet programs, including the Bank’s internal computer software programs and core applications.
- Ability to be available for working extended hours as necessary.
- Ability to comply with all requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act that are applicable to this position, as well as, with the QCRH BSA Policy and QCBT Physical Security Policy and procedures. Employees will also participate in additional BSA training at least annually
- Duties are performed in a professional office environment.
