What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Civil Construction Inspector (Multiple Openings) position at Quality Engineering Solutions, Inc?
QES Engineering Inspection is seeking Heavy Civil Construction Inspectors (CI) to join our team. The Inspectors will perform inspection to assure that contractors build a quality construction project. The CI will monitor and document that the roadway and bridge project is being built in accordance with the pertinent plans and specifications.
These positions require in-person work over the course of the 5-year project. These are early to mid-career positions that provide long-term employment opportunity with QES, working with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC).
Responsibilities:
- Complete oversight and inspection of roadway and bridges.
- Prepare daily documentation and complete forms as needed
- Complete measurements and calculations daily
- Ensure the construction adheres to the project plans, specifications and special provisions
- Verify the proper materials and methods of construction are being performed
Requirements:
- Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma. Bachelors’ degree or higher in a civil engineering discipline is strongly preferred.
- Must have 1-5 years of similar construction inspection experience.
- Must be NICET certified (either NICET II or III)
- Previous experience on PennDOT or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) projects is a PLUS.
- PennDOT Concrete and NECEPT Bituminous are preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
