The Manager of OGP Application Engineering manages incoming customer requests for applications, support, and training needs. This is an OGP global position with international responsibilities as required. This individual reports on metrics related application work success and assists Hardware and Software Engineering on voice of customer (VOC) feedback. All OGP Application Engineers (AE’s) report to this position.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Administer personnel policy while maintaining an efficient, productive application engineering workforce.
· Organize and Provide Logistical Support for trade shows and open houses. Including AE travel, Machine Demonstration Setup, and machine shipping logistics
· Responsible for the upkeep and housekeeping of the OGP Customer Center and OGP assigned area of the QVI Western Technology Center. Oversee the maintenance of the facility while assuring demonstration equipment is maintained in pristine condition.
· Monitor the status of applications cases and other customer requests, and periodically report on performance against established expectations.
· Monitor and maintain applications-related responses to ticket systems, and forums.
· Ensure that all RFQs from customers, representatives and governmental agencies receive appropriate evaluation of OGP technical ability to satisfactorily meet the customer's application.
· Ensure that all RFQs are answered in a prompt manner and contain complete and accurate technical documentation.
· Handle customer concerns and complaints in a professional and expeditious manner. Promptly arrange for answers and solutions to equipment or service problems by appropriate parties within the company.
· Arrange for demonstrations of equipment to customers and ensure that preparation for and scheduling of such visits are completed in advance.
· May assist others in software evaluation, application support, and software/hardware troubleshooting and testing as requested.
· Provide appropriate training and development for applications engineers.
· Provide supplies, equipment, and information sources, necessary for assigned personnel to efficiently perform their duties. Maintain equipment in customer center and Western Technology Center, Tempe, AZ.
· Responsible for field travel of application engineers as required.
· Provide telephone support concerning software and customer applications.
· Provide and schedule software training classes, source inspections, and applications support. Including quoting of said responsibilities.
· Support Channel Partners and OGP Managers by providing technical information, application studies, demonstrations, tech tours and support at trade shows, sales meetings, etc.
· Build Training materials for customers and representatives.
· Keep a continuous flow of knowledgeable information to Sales Representatives including webinars and sales videos provided by OGP AE’s
· Control expenditures within the department as mandated by corporate policy and QVI/OGP management.
· Administer Paylocity timecard approval for all direct reports by close of business on the first business day of each week.
· Direct reports include all OGP Application Engineers and OGP Application Engineering Supervisor in Tempe, AZ.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
· B.S. in Engineering discipline required.
· Applications and metrology experience required.
· 2-5 years of relevant experience to qualify as a Supervisor of OGP Applications
· 5 years of relevant experience to qualify as Manager, OGP Applications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Must maintain a thorough knowledge of QVI products.
· Must be a good presenter and verbal communicator.
· Production statistics and GR&R experience
· GD&T Certification
· Good interpersonal skills for cross-functional communication and direction
· Understanding of metrology best practices. A strong metrology background, experience level of a seasoned professional and engineering degree will be required to successfully fulfill the duties required in this position.
· Ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel including customers, colleagues, and government agencies in a global setting. Self-starter able to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a changing environment.
· Strong Microsoft 360 skills.
· U.S. citizenship or U.S. lawful permanent resident status.
Key Relationships:
· External: It is essential to act with courtesy and integrity to maintain trust and good relations with OGP Channel Partners, and current or prospective customers. The goal of all customer contact is to establish and retain customer satisfaction with OGP.
· Internal: Good working relationships must be maintained with all units of QVI and OGP since prompt reaction is required to customer requests and/or problems to ensure customer satisfaction and goodwill. At times, it may be necessary to intercede strongly on behalf of customers while maintaining continuing cooperation and teamwork within and between company units. Promoting and maintaining customer satisfaction is a key ingredient to the success of this position.
Physical and/or Environmental Requirements:
· Ability to sit for extended periods of time (8-hour shift) in an office setting, utilizing standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, computer mouse, phone, etc.)
· Ability to move about and navigate through the workplace.
· Ability to travel globally as required and approved in advance by President of OGP.
· Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects of 10-15 pounds.
