Position Title: Plant Technician
Hiring Salary: $16.66 per hour
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
The Plant Cutting Technician plays a critical role in advancing our tissue culture processes by performing precise and detailed work in a controlled, sterile environment. This full-time, hourly position requires daytime availability and offers an opportunity to contribute to the propagation of high-quality plants for various agricultural applications.
· Perform sterile cutting and transfer of apple, cherry, pear, hops, and grape plants according to strict protocols.
· Monitor and assess the health and growth of tissue culture plants over time.
· Maintain and clean laminar flow hoods to ensure optimal sterility and functionality.
· Utilize software to accurately track plant growth and inventory data.
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED
· Proven ability to perform high-volume, repetitive, and detail-oriented tasks with precision.
· Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
· Capacity to adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs); prior experience in controlled environments is preferred.
· Effective collaboration and clear communication skills in team settings.
· Exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage stress associated with tight deadlines and high-throughput environments.
Experience & Skills:
· Experience in plant cultivation or related horticultural practices.
· Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, biology, or a related scientific field.
· Familiarity with laboratory protocols, including sterile technique and adherence to SOPs.
- Previous involvement in research or scientific projects.
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Work Location: Onsite. We have up to 3 openings available at our Pullman, Washington and Mabton, Washington facilities.
